Back back to Cali Cali

Tomorrow morning we will be saying bye bye to beautiful Washington and be on the road back to California! I am going to miss this place so much. I really fell in love with this state! Maybe we will be back someday. Who knows where we will be! That's one thing I love about the military. We get to see the world. We have a long road trip ahead of us and I hope little Meeka holds up in the car for 20 hours! We will see how far we get...snow predictions this weekend. Aahh!
I'm going to miss this...

 Our apartment is so empty. Sleeping-on-the-floor empty. Alright, time to clean this place some more.

New Hair

I know I already posted about chopping my hair off but it changed again! I went to get it fixed yesterday at the hair salon. I was kind of embarrassed explaining the situation to the hairdresser but she said something must be in the air because another lady came in who cut her hair off just the other day! Haha how funny. Something even more amusing-she said I did a pretty darn good job! She was impressed with my hair cutting skills with my cheapy scissors. She said she couldn't even tell anything was wrong when I walked in and that all she thought was, "Wow, she has really beautiful hair!" which she continued to tell me throughout the appointment. After she straightened out my hair, I decided to go for a whole new look. "Give me some bangs!" I told her, "Some straight across, Zooey Deschanel bangs!" (love her!)

So this is my new hair...

Loving it! I've gotten a positive response from everyone as well. I'm so excited for this change!

Britney Spears Moment...

Well, it wasn't this drastic

But anyone who knows me knows that my LONG hair is like my trademark. I have had extensions since I was 15. Although, my hair grew to be just as long as my extensions, I still kept those 22" extensions in. Yes, twenty-two inch, buttlong hair! See for yourself..

I don't know what got into me but I had a mini breakdown and I guess I took it out on my hair. I grabbed the scissors from the kitchen and went into the bedroom and sat in front of the mirror. I separated my hair into two sections and *snip snip*

It was liberating! Refreshing!! My hair has been the same for the past 6 years and it was now so different. I looked at myself in the mirror and started getting lightheaded! "Did I REALLY just cut my hair off?!"

I ran out to the living room with the scissors in one hand and a chunk of cut hair in the other and asked my husband, "Is this real life?" lol I just couldn't believe it! I ran to the restroom and touched the ends of my hair and he looked at me and said "Yup, this is real life" followed by me bursting out into loud sobs and tears.

 He kept saying "Hair grows, babe" but to me, it wasn't just hair. It was a security blanket. My long, curly hair was something I loved about myself. Something people even envied. Having hair barely pass my shoulders was completely out of my comfort zone. I got in the shower thinking maybe it would wake me up and my hair would be back but when I got out, the hair I had cut was still there sitting on the bathroom counter.

I kept saying, "Do I look weird? Does it look bad? My hair is so short. Oh my gosh, it's so short. I have no hair. Do I look ugly?" and my husband replied with, "It looks great. I really like it. It's new, different, better." And now, I'm starting to like my new look. My hair feels healthier, thicker! I think it'll be fun and cute and a great change for me. Although, I think I should have a professional fix it a bit since I just chopped it off straight across hahaha

Anyway, I can always get extensions!

Lol we still love her and I love doggies!

Halloween/Happy November!

Yesterday was Halloween! Our first Halloween as a married couple :) We were going to go to this huge pumpkin patch that had hayrides, hot dogs, pumpkin pie, apple cider, a petting zoo, corn mazes, and a haunted corn maze at night! BUT because we live in Washington, the haunted corn maze was closed because it turned more into a haunted swamp from all the rain. Boooo! So we stayed in and carved an itty bitty pumpkin!

Grrr, scary pumpkin!!

We watched all the Halloween movies that came on TV and I baked some cute cookies!

Now, it's already November!!! Can't believe it. Time to get ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas time!

Welcome Home!

Back in his loving arms!

He has just been so exhausted since he got back home and off the ship. One of the best things about being married... Sleep talking to one another! He does it quite often and it is absolutely hilarious! We got invited to go see a movie with some friends so I woke him up (so I thought) to ask if he wanted to go and he responded with, "No, I don't want pancakes." I'll take that as a no to the movie. And I think I should make him pancakes for breakfast.

Hahahahaha. Love :)

Almost Time...

For my husband to come home!! They got to San Diego yesterday so I was able to actually talk to him on the phone and skype!! I'm a happy girl! I miss home so so much and can't wait for him to just be home with me (and baby Meeka) where he belongs. Six more days! Less than week :) Plenty of time to get the place ready. I want to do a few more holiday decorations around the walls, hang a few more pictures, clean even though the place is pretty clean, and get the ingredients and supplies to make some tasty treats for him. I am so excited!!!

Our apartment smells of pumpkin spice and sugar cookies!! And the smell makes me so happy because I love love love the holidays! I think it turned out nice...

 Our door placemat! It's outside our apartment door and I hope no one steals it but it's okay if they do because...

It was only a dollar! I spent less than $20 for all of these decorations! And the place smells of pumpkin spice and sugar cookies without any real pumpkins or cookies in the oven! Thank you scented candles, potpourri, and reed diffusers. But the sweet smell of sugar cookies makes me want to actually make some! I saw the cutest Halloween cupcake holders so I was thinking of making some "Welcome Home Sugar Cookies and Halloween Cupcakes" for when my hubby comes home! Wouldn't that be sweet (pun intended)? He's going to be so excited to be home and then get even more excited when he sees the apartment :)

It's a cold, rainy day. In Seattle, no way?! Haha we both love this weather! I made some yummy soup while I listened to the rain pour down and hit the pavement. My husband is going to have to learn to like veggies because it was good. Can't wait for him to be home. Just nine more days!!

Good Mood

I was in such a good mood all day today!! I think it's a combination of this weather (rain, gloomy, cold) and all the holidays coming up! And I am definitely in the holiday spirit!!

I came across this doggie shirt while shopping for decorations and, of course, had to get it for Meeka! She wore it while I transformed our apartment into holiday wonderland (will post pictures)! She surprisingly kept it on, too!

I did yoga this morning. I've been doing it for the past few days and boy am I sore! Need to get into shape!

After yoga, I got a spray tan. Being tan always makes me feel thin! Lol

I got an email from my husband and was able to have a little conversation! He usually emails me around 3 am when I am sleeping but he emailed me early so we got to email back and forth. Love hearing from him! Two more weeks till he's home! Love you hubby!

And to top off this wonderful day, the UPS man knocked on my door and handed me a package I've been waiting for!
